I have a Coachman Freedom Express 195RBS, 2016 model with about 15k miles on her.
I have discovered large cracks in the webs of the two main frame I-beams over the front axle, where a cross member runs between the two beams.
The cracks appear to be punching shear from the Web of the cross member pushing against the unreinforced web of the main beam. Steel beam construction standards require beam joints of dissimilar heights to have a chock on the smaller beam, and/or a web stiffener on the larger beam at the joint location. This was not done.
I am now having the cracks repaired and properly reinforced.
Has anyone else had any problems with frame cracking on similar units?
