I recently completed some routine maintenance and went to the Owner HQ section of Freightliner 24/7 to make the entries. Unfortuneately all my records (almost three years worth) were gone. Just not there anymore. And that was where I kept all my maintenance records - it seemed like a good place for them at the time.

So I went back through all my receipts and other misc records (email, notes, calendar, etc) and recreated my maintenance log to the best of my ability. I now use the notes function on my ipad and print a copy every time I make an entry and keep hard-copy records in my FL manual binder with the receipts - a somewhat antiquated approach but it’s dependable. I don’t even bother with Owner HQ anymore.

So this is just a heads-up - the maintenance log section of Owner HQ (My Vehicle/Service Records) is not dependable.

I use the same system but don’t bother printing them out as “Notes” are always available on any of my Apple products, even if my IPad fails. The Notes app is an invaluable tool to me.

It is to me too and its searchable so thats handy, but now I don’t trust any of this stuff. So….hard copies. You can do maint records on carfax and its probably pretty stable, but I’m not going to get involved in any of it.

I keep everything in binders and pass it on to the next owners. More than once it was sincerely appreciated.
