I change the ones on my 8.9 400 hp isl on my camelot by myself, but they're right there in the back and easy to get to.
 
I change my filters on my 6.7 and also carry a spare of each type and a filter wrench in case I get some bad fuel. Its unlikely but Ive read about it happening and people being stranded because of it. Most filters can be purchased for a reasonable price on Amazon.
