Hello:

New here, just purchased a 2008 Country Coach, Cummins ISL 450. Trying to learn some things, like when you switch on the key (but not far enough for the engine to crank/start) does the fuel pump run in that switch position?

If so, how long might it produce pressure?

Nothing wrong, just wondering.

Thanks

Roy

With our Cummins ISX15/600 the fuel pump runs in that key position. I don’t recall how long it runs. When we change the fuel filter(s), turning the key to this position is part of the prime process to eliminate all air from the lines ( turn key to the on position and wait 30 seconds - turn off - repeat a few times)
On our engine we can hear the fuel pump running when standing by the engine.

Thanks, that's what I had in mind. Setting turning the key, I could not hear anything but the switch turning. I was hoping the pump would run for fuel filter changes. Thanks again.
