Those of us using Trip Wizard as our planning tool have you notice that some Petro fuel stops change names when selected? One example and there are many is the Petro stop in Cottondale, Al. On the Trip Wizard map it shows as Petro but when selected it changes to Speedway Pilot Travel Center. The Open Roads app still has it listed and shown as Petro in Cottondale, Al. Another example is the Petro shown in Russellville, Ar. On Trip Wizard map. When selected it is a Flying J, 42 Bradley Cove Rd, Russellville, AR 72802, United States. Open Roads doesn’t show anything in Russellville, Ar. I asked Open Roads and they commented just use the app which I do to verify or find a stop. I haven’t found much on the internet except where BP has purchased (2023) Travel Centers of America and I believe T/A purchased Petro 2007

Maybe this is the answer?
The 2023 article contained this statement:
This BP acquisition will mean that all three major U.S. truck stop companies — TA, Love’s and Pilot Flying J — will be privately owned.
Berkshire now own Pilot Flying J.
