We began our FTing in 2013. We traveled between May and October then always spent our winters in Florida. Our goal was to explore every State and possibly even make the run up to Alaska. We ended up barely getting to 30 different States. What we found was that there were places so majestic, so beautiful, and so inviting that we were drawn to return. The Black Hills, southern Utah, the list is extensive.

We sold our large fiver toy hauler last night and will be transitioning into a smaller travel trailer toy hauler while we wait for our home to be completed. Our travel will be limited to shorter summer RV trips.

What we learned in the last 10 years might help others considering going full time. First of all, unless you have unlimited income you need to plan ahead and do some research. We tried each year to lower our average campground fee costs. If you jump around to different places for a night or two you will spend a ton of money over a years time. Getting weekly or monthly cheaper rates can save you an unbelievable amount of money. Also, if you purchase a new RV during your FTing years DO NOT pay more than 30% to 35% below MSRP. This will be a life saver when you sell or trade.
