Looking for any type of help setting up my Garmin 890. We bought a 2019 DS and the previous owner had it installed on the dash. I’ve tried using it a few times and it doesn’t seem to work correctly. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
Thank you Dave

I suggest not putting phone or email on here. This is on the Internet!!

First thing I would do is UPDATE your "890" from Garmin.
Then download the manual from the above post.

And what do you mean, "It doesn't work correctly"?
We could be of better assistance if we knew what its "WAS" and "WASN'T" doing!

There are some pretty smart folks on here, when it comes to "Electronics"! But, not me!;)

Simply Put... Start from Scratch

Go in and completely reset the 890 to get rid of all the memory from the previous owner.
Download Garmin Express to your computer. Run it and plug the 890 into it, run all the updates from there.

You don't know what is in there now and that may be causing issues.

I have the 895 and like it a lot. We have it on the friction mount on the dash. We also run Google Maps and Apple Maps on phones and Ipad and compare routes when planning. My radio has the Rand McNally program also but that is difficult to set p and I cannot really look at it while driving.
