I finally took the plunge so I can have this prior to my winter travels and have it setup and those that may get messages from me to understand it. This is a survival item such as in the case of @ARD the beginning of this year having a tire issue and no cell service. There are a lot of reasons to carry this as a RVer and camper, hiker, etc. Find yourself at a campground with no cell service or connectivity then this is your SAT backup communicator. It can also help people keep up with where you are. I've heard of it through posts here and fellow RVers, it's time to own one.
