I have used Garmin Drive for years but saw a different app in the Google store called Garmin SmartPhone Link.

Can someone explain the difference between the 2 apps.

If it makes a difference I have a Garmin RV 1090.

It's not a new app as I just checked the Apple App Store details, not sure what this is. But I see in-app purchase pricing outlined so you may have to pay for content. Long worded way of "I don't know"

I believe they have created different apps for interfacing with different devices over the years, and now have quite a stable of them. Must be easier than consolidating into one or two apps I guess.

Your RV 1090 is not listed in Garmin's "compatible devices" list:

Thanks Y'all
I think Scott is correct with Garmin creating several different apps. I did notice in Neal's Garmin discription Smartphone link is compatible with the Nuvi line from Garmin. So Knobs it makes sense, I'll go back to Drive.
