Gas mileage - expecting too much?

2023 F150 Fx4 Max tow package. 3.5 Ecoboost. Imagine XLS MKE. We’ve only done 1 trip so far. Truck seems to handle the load fine.

I’m getting 11 MPG if I keep it under 60. Over 65 it drops to 8. We may have has a headwind.

I had an F150 3.5 EcoBoost and that's what I got pulling a 7k Lb 32 ft TT

What results do you get at double nickel (55)?

Partly depends on the topper. The right one (not disrupting aerodynamics) will help.
Imagine the amount of reduction on the trailer frontal surface.

BUT! While not towing, if the shell increases the Eddie current produced, the milage will suffer.
