We have a 2001 newmar dutch star 3891 with spartan chassis and Cummins motor. How do you start generator using preheat switch

What generator do you have? Can you show a picture of the switch? With the ONAN Gens you simply press and hold the start switch. Top is start, bottom is prime.

I don't know what kind

I think just press and hold switch to TOP and it should start. It could take up to 10-15 seconds if it has to prime first.

I dont think preheat switch works
I'm not sure what that's for, my guess is a block heater on the engine. I don't think it's related to your GEN.

The height of the coach would be in the specs of your model/year but the best option is to measure yourself, in ready to drive config (i.e. aired up. etc.)
