Golf Cart Storage

I have a golf cart at my RV site, and I will be leaving for Florida after the rv is winterized. The cart is 48 Volt, and will be unattended for 5 months, it will be in a shed, I am going to buy a battery maintainer and use it on the batteries. I it will be in the state of PA, which gets pretty cold. This i the first year trying this, anybody have any suggestions Pro/Con, thanks

If you don't remove them I would disconnect the negative cable.

Remove the battery cables, make sure they are fully charged and forget about them until Spring.

Having a golf cart in Florida I tried every method imaginable to save the batteries. High end trickle chargers, maintainers, disconnecting, etc. Only being down there a few times a year, almost always needed or had a damaged battery every year or two. Finally went lithium. Before leaving I fully charge. Then push the button on the battery to turn it off. Last year, was a year between visits. When I go there the battery was completely discharged, dead. Plugged it in and it came back, no difference at all. Interesting it went so low the BMS lost it's history and reported as a new battery, 0 charge cycles. Now on year three. BTW, the reduction in weight makes for a bouncy ride as the upgraded motor and the power of that battery gets me near 25 mph. Using it near daily I charge it 2X a week. Golf cart community so it gets used as transportation. Stores, rec center, pools. Have one of those bicycle GPS speedos. Go 30 to 40 miles on a charge.

Also most golf carts have a switch for tow mode. Make certain to put it in tow mode
