Question Harvest Host?

Has anyone had any positive, or negative, dealings with Harvest Host?

We looked into it, and it seems very positive, but is there a catch? Is there a down side?

Great and safe place to stop for one night. Usually no hook ups it’s just dry camping usually a winery or something similar best of all it’s free. They just want you to spend a few bucks at their place of business. Love harvest host depending on the host which for us is usually a winery. We ended up spending too much money, but we’re happy when we leave the next morning

We were HH members for about 3 years and enjoyed some nice host locations, however, with a 42' Fifth Wheel the HH options can be pretty limited. We also found and why we decided to drop our membership at least for now is that often hosts that said they could accommodate our fifth wheel couldn't and we ended up in some very tight spots. Certainly not knocking HH but seems to have more options if your RV is a bit smaller than what we have.

See, we fear that as well. With the length of our trailer, tongue, hitch and tow vehicle.. we are about 40' (+/- a few inches). We have feared booking the most awesome spot, to arrive and find we wont fit..

I’m 75 ft and have never had an issue. Just check out your HH location on Google Earth and speak with the host ahead of time.

We always spoke to the host ahead of time and reiterated our equipment (42' Fifth Wheel and an F450). They always assured us they could accommodate us with no problem. Unfortunately, at a number of hosts their designated camping areas were either too small for our setup or required unrealistic maneuvering. At one location we had to wait until they closed to set up because the only place we could fit was their parking lot which was filled because the site was hosting a party. Again, I am not knocking HH we had some great stops during our travels, but when making plans I often found that once you put in your rig length the number of available hosts was quite limited in some areas.
