After a few years of no camping, we finally decided that the next rig would be a Class C. Coachmen Leprechaun. We took it out twice - once for a weekend, where it rained the entire time; second was to go to the McMinnville Air Show. We decided that this Class C is not for us. Its going up for sale asap.

In the meantime, partly due to this forum, I started searching for Class A's. Newmar specifically. Now, get this. Neither of us has ever driven a Class A, so I felt it was important that we don't get an massive length model.

I found a 2019 Newmar Baystar 3414 on RV Trader, right in our town! I and my son went to look at it and spent 2.75 hours there with the lovely owners. We settled on a price and I'm thrilled to have found the right length for hubs and I and our 2 cattle dogs. Its got opposing slides, which we loved in our former 5th wheel. The peeling upholstery has been replaced, new air bed in the couch, and boy oh boy does it have storage!

On Tuesday, we will meet the owners in a large empty parking lot, so I and hubs can learn to drive this monster (to us!). I had no problem towing our 36' 5th with our 2500 Ram a few years ago. I'm even the backer upper of the family.

Wish us luck!!

Congrats! You’ll love it.

Congrats! You will get the hang of it pretty quickly I bet!
We went from a bumper pull straight to the class A.

I went from “never been camping” to class A gasser (20 years ago)…

You will love it.

A friend of ours had a Bay Star and loved it but they found handling to be an issue so I installed the complete Henderson Line Up kit with everything except the dual shocks and they were very impressed and thought it made it handle so much better

Congrats. May Isuggest RV Driving School. Very reasonable cost for two days of instruction. The cost for me was half the cost of the damage I did to my first MH on the second day of ownership.
