It was a great night! One half of the park hosted goodies yesterday, and the other half will put on their show tomorrow. It’s been a lot of fun meeting the Hoots members and winding our way around the park.

Last night I also got to witness Steve Showalter’s famous Bacon BBQ for the first time. And let me tell you, when Steve says bacon, he means bacon. He cooks up a mountain of it over a giant open firepit, and then his helpers hand it out to the crowd. I’d heard about it before, but I hadn’t imagined the scale of the operation.

And this isn’t a quick, 10-minute cook-off either. Steve keeps it going for hours, and from what I hear, he’ll be firing it up again tomorrow. I mean really, who doesn’t like bacon?
