So, I want to get an appointment on the books with Newmar in August/September to take care of any warranty items that may pop up in the next 8 months or so before it lapses. How do i go about doing this?

Also, other than the refer issue I posted about, we haven’t really experienced any issues yet. It makes me wonder if perhaps I am overlooking things. Any suggestions on things I should be checking on in the first year of ownership?

In the past I think we emailed Phil Stilley who did the scheduling, you can email him at pstilley@newmarcorp.com but I'd CC customerservice@newmarcorp.com and also ventanaservice@newmarcorp.com and one of those should get you scheduled. Yes, you should set your appointment as early as you can and as you find things report to Ventana Service but also keep your own list. I reported everything and kept a PDF updated for them as they have a limit on images their email system can handle so I did a PDF and gave them dropbox links as well. Still when I arrived they didn't have everything on their list I had on mine so be sure to print out a cover page with a bulleted list of warranty items, then your PDF document etc. with all of the details and inline images showing the issues.

I lived under a magnifying glass the first year, you will find things and as you do write them down. You'll find exterior issues and interior issues as you settle into it. I had quite a few, I had an interim warranty cleanup during a trip to Newmar for a repair and then an end of year list to cleanup.

Thanks @Neal and @deaton. @Neal would you be able to share that PDF with me. I’m afraid I might be overlooking things and that would at least give me something to baseline against.

Other things they can handle for you:

Depending on your needs, Newmar also offers minor maintenance work at some company sponsored rallys. We are having some maintenance work performed at the Tampa show. NKK arranged to have some Newmar maintenance folks in attendance. The Newmar International rally will have many more maintenance folks.

There were 26 Techs at the Tampa rally last year.

How does that work? Do they drive their horse & carriages down there or what?

Newmar sends them down (at least the Amish) on a bus. If anyone wants service at the Rally you must fill out the form they included with the NKK package they sent you. Probably too late to send it in but you'll need to submit it in the "tent" in the corner of the CG.

Well, for starters, not all of the Newmar techs are Amish, if that's what you're thinking. Then, the Amish are allowed to ride in motorized vehicles to get to and from work, etc. I'm guessing that would cover transportation to another location for work purposes.

We spent three weeks in Nappanee in June and had a couple of Amish techs working on our coach. I must say that they were very fine folks and did excellent work. I have a huge amount of respect for Amish craftsmanship and the Amish workers that accomplish it.

it was a sincere question, @TJ&LadyDi. I wasn’t was questioning their lifestyle, craftsmanship or anything else. I was merely thinking out loud from a perspective of practicality.

I don't know how they do it in the winter, riding bikes or buggies! And I'm not even sure their homes have electricity but I tell you, cutting out Internet and all that stuff would do us all some good!

We scheduled our annual service at Newmar Service Center this week. Assigned March 9th. It was easy. Emailed my list of items to estimates@newmarcorp.com and Devon responded in a few days with a Quote. Sign and return the estimate if you agree or modify list as necessary with your preferred time. They will work you in as possible. Also, if you work with a specific work group, specify who you want to work on the Coach.

I just read where labor discount is offered Jan-Mar, make sure you get it.

Interesting comment? We specifically make our appointments in March for the discounted rate. Even when the maintenance took well into April Newmar has always honoured the discounted off season rate with us.
