I recovered our RV bedroom window valance in new black fabric.
I disassembled & removed a bijillion staples in 3 different sizes. Then I used the yucky old fabric pieces as patterns. It took some time, some puzzle solving, 2 compressed air staplers, 3 lengths of staples, and lots of patience…
The pictures above the valance are fabric cut & glued to the frame backing cardboard with spray adhesive. The fabric was actually a fabric curtain valance I bought to cover the top of the blind valance, but it turned out to be too short.
