When I saw this I was like yeah, what nonsense is going to be in this video...then...well, guilty on a few and suggest watching it!

LOL - I’ll admit to having a few flare ups like that on our regular grill over the years but not the pellet one.

I decided to watch just because I have been at my son’s who has a Traeger and a couple of nights ago after cooking some burgers he had a hopper fire 🔥. I have never experienced this before so it was a little surprised when he said this had happened before and was caused because it needed cleaning (mistake 3 in video).

So yesterday he cleaned the smoker out since we were looking forward to some steaks last night. He found that auger was jammed and tried to start/stop smoker hoping to free things up (mistake number 6?). End result after taking apart the motor/auger to clear the jam was we found a bent shear pin where the motor attaches the auger and stripped gear in the motor. Traeger is under warranty and new motor on the way.

We did get steaks last night as my GMG Trek came to the rescue🤗
