I am new to using a Camper trailer and am having a problem with something chewing on my 50 amp power cord. I ran a 50 foot 50 amp power cord from our camper to our house shortly after purchasing the camper. The next day I noticed that something (I think it was squirrels) chewed a big chunk of insulation out of the power cord. I have searched the internet for a solution to prevent this from happening because I don't what to have to purchase expensive power cords every time I plug in our camper.

Has anyone else experienced this problem and has anyone found a solution ?

Thanks,
Richard

I bought a 5lb bag of cayenne pepper from Amazon for around $25 to use to prevent the dogs from digging in the landscaping. Works great and I have a lifetime supply for the kitchen left over. Id say moisten the cable and then coat with a generous amount of cayenne and the little critters will probably decide they dont like cables anymore.

Thanks for the reply and I will give your idea a try when I find a smaller bag of cayenne pepper. 5lb bag is too much for now.

You could try a sleeve. I have one on my StarLink cord.
