Ice Cube maker not making ice

I have an LG refrigerator only two years old. I think I may have turned the ice maker on when there was no water in the tank? maybe? Anyway the green light is on but it is not making ice. Could I have air in the line? or is it dead?

There is typically (in the past) an arm that turns off the ice maker when the tray is full. Make sure the arm is down and the tray has not been dislodged.

Hi Kev: Nope arm was down and green light on. Well last night it started making ice again. Go figure.

These ice makers are known for freezing up. Next time it happens remove the ice tray and look up inside the ice maker and see if there is ice build up if sop, get a hair dryer out on low and melt the ice away. I have a Kenmore Elite in our coach and if you set them ice temp under 8 degrees it does not make ice.

Thanks Wemustry I think that is what happened. It started making ice again last night.
