Hello All!

Here's our dilemma. Our Norcold refrigerator door broke and fell off the fridge. Norcold discontinued the model we have...model: DC558. See photo attached of the bottom of the door and how the door broke.

Anyone just happen to have a Norcold model DC558 refrigerator door laying around that their wife is on the husband's case to get rid of the fridge door because they will never have a need for it? 🙃

If so, let me know!

I can only offer that the bottom hinge on mine broke off and the door hit the floor, off to Harbor Freight and bought a plastic welder. Practiced on some abs ( the materials must match, ie., abs to abs, polypropylene to polypropylene...) and welded mine. Used a dremel to bevel the edges of the break on both the door and the hinge then buffed down the welds. I purchased the metal door hinge plates/reinforced repair kit, which Norcold sells for a hefty fee because they know the abs hinges are prone to break off. It's been three years and so far so good. I think I bought the hinge plates on etrailer, but ebay I believe has them as well.

The same happened with my Dometic refrigerator. Bottom hinge broke. I used the plastic weld stuff and it's been holding up for a couple of years now.
I had to take the freezer door off in order to get the refrigerator door off.

I have not used these guys I just saw on line a while back.
