I must be the winner. I’ve been equally touched by lost packages by USPS, UPS, and FedEx. My favorite is the two times FedEx has “lost” a package after being scanned into one of their facilities. Someone must have really liked what I ordered.

Could have been what happened to me….

Ordered an Apple Watch directly from Apple. Shipped from their warehouse via FedEx.

Delivered to my house - opened the package, which was sealed, and only the boxes were there. No watch at all.

Someone along the way decided they needed one I guess.

My anecdote with Amazon was with two 32oz. jars of Olive Salad. Both were broken and had made a mess in the box. Called Amazon for refund and the person said the delivery person had noted they handed the package directly to the addressee, which was not even the case. The delivery person evidently threw the order onto the porch heard it break and entered they'd handed it off to me to cover their tracks. The person on the line was skeptical about issuing the refund but eventually relented.
It wouldn't have made much difference in that case, but if there's one thing Amazon is really bad at, it's their packaging. Got a gallon of MinWax Stain once that been dropped into an oversize box and left just to roll around inside, the lid had of course popped off. Some things you're better off just going the brick and mortar route.

I've had the same issues, I agree USPS is the worst, I avoid if at all possible.

Ok have to give credit where due…

Had a package that was shipped via USPS - normally they use UPS.

Package was scheduled to be delivered Monday and actually showed up today - three days early.

Had to spot them this one 😊

One a note I order what seems like a lot of stuff from Amazon for my business and it seems every time there is a large delivery window it's because it will be shipped by the USPS. They are consistently poor.

Those far out delivery windows occur because the item isn't ordinarily stocked at an Amazon Dist. Center. They're featured on the Amazon web page but sold and shipped from independent providers. I just ordered a 160 mm skewer w/bobbins for a Bob Bike Trailer on Amazon. It's of coure not something they'd stock at a dist. center and the provider isn't going to offer free shipping via UPS when USPS costs them far less.

Absolutely, the odder the item the greater chance of USPS.
When we started our business we did some USPS shipping due to costs but quickly realized time and CS was more important.

Ordered a set, male and female TT30 ends + 10 brass butt connectors from Amazon. Unfortunately was delivered by USPS 2 day. It came on time, only problem the large packaging envelope had been opened and as I suspect there was nothing of any particular value inside was shoved aside and the butt splice connectors fell out along the way somewhere. Amazon is sending the replacement. If you ever opened an Amazon soft package large envelope you know there's not much chance of one accidently opening. I've however got to give credit where credit is due, the USPS handler was able to open it with only one little tear on the flap, those folks are good at what they do.
