Unless he finds a bigger fool than he was to buy into his story he will lose more than the $5000 he thinks he will lose. Buying an RV is NOT something to take lightly especially if you've never owned one before. Financial mistakes can be costly. This one most certainly will.

You are right. I bought my trailer in the fall. I cammped in it once in the fall and once in the spring. Much was added to it. I traded it in in the spring for what I really wanted, a motorhome. I lost 50% on the trade-in.

I think a lot of people who bought trailers during this COVID epidemic will be selling their trailers next year after realizing that RVing wasn't the best idea they've ever had.

Truth. It’s HIS RV with HIS add-ons. Unlikely he’ll find a buyer who wants the same exact rv, with same exact add-ons. I pass on when I see ads like that, and if I was at all interested, I’d wait until he came down into the real world. Even when the market was tightest in mid-covid.
I’m already seeing an uptick in units for sale, probably due to winter, but I expect to see more in spring. Especially when fuel prices rise,
