Well, it’s finally arrived! It’s definitely bigger than I expected, with an impressive array of buttons, dials, and switches to fiddle with. LOL, I don’t think I’ll be snapping any photos today, though. The battery still needs to charge anyway.
I forgot to mention.....get a spare battery too. When I first got my camera, I used it lots. The battery does last quite a while but it was a pain when half way thru a shoot I ran out of battery. I have one sitting in the charger unless I expect to have to use it. The charger shuts down when the charge is complete.

Well, there’s got to be a first picture, right? So, for what it’s worth, here it is.

Looking good! Someone's picking it up fast.

Takes some amazing pictures doesn't it? Learning the focus zones is important, so many modes!

It is indeed! The first dog belongs to a visitor, and I got him to sit still for me. Ryker on the other hand, had stopped just long enough for me to snap a few pics. Wasn't expecting much, and it's not as good as the first doggie, but still I was pleasantly surprised at how well it came out.

Thanks! I'm dusting off my camera. My Samsung S23 takes amazing photos, but nothing compares to my DSLR.

Ryker is a beautiful GSD!

@Jim, I think I will try shooting the same subject with my Samsung Galaxy S23+ and my Nikon D500 and compare the results.
I have noticed that when I enlarge my phone photos, they lose some focus.

Captured this evening from my front deck, just after a thunderstorm.

Edit: I’ve noticed the picture quality progressively goes downhill the more I zoom in on the clouds. What can I do to fix this, or is it just Mother Nature’s way of saying, ‘Don’t zoom, pal’?
