As strange as it sounds, I haven’t shot a single video yet. I guess Spielberg’s safe for now. I’ll have to give it a try, though. In the meantime, this has been eating up a lot of my free time, and apparently, I didn’t have that much to spare to begin with!

Haven't heard of that book. Let me know your thoughts when done.

This is "Shelby", proud owner of @Headhunter. 😍 Far from symmetrical, but she had a mind of her own.

@Jim, Iread most of his book before buying my camera and highlighted the areas I thought I would need the most help with. I then sat down with the camera and went step by step. I started getting proficient (?) shooting in Aperture, adjusting ISO and shutter speed. This is how I learned to use my camera, but you may have a better approach.

Another tip I'll share is "back button focus" rather than using the shutter button to focus.

Excellent tip TC, and thank you!

By the way, I’d encourage everyone to post their photos and share any tips or hints here on this page. I fully expect plenty of shots to be far better than mine, and that’s perfectly fine! I’ll look at it as inspiration for what I want to work toward, not as anyone making my photos look inferior.

I have the Nikon Z6. Can take many different lenses. Udemy has photography classes for less than $20. They will teach you how to use your camera. I've taken the class. learned so much in just hour a day.

Not very well focused, but still kind of cool.

Practice, practice, practice, practice, and then practice some more.

The D850 has quite a few focus modes from a wider screen of focus areas to a more centered focus area. Just have to learn which to use and remember how to switch them and that could help. There's always manual focus too vs auto focus for fine tuning.

Ryker, he's almost 9 now. Hate to see him growing so old, and so fast. All that grey! But the last couple of years have been very rough on him.

And, from what you have shared, he couldn’t have asked for better parents!
