Loves Travel Stops - RV Spots

So I have one booked for my way up to the AIM event in Hershey. Has anyone stayed at one of these rv spots?

I've stayed at two of them. The one in Cordalle GA is outstanding - easily accommodates a big rig with pull through spaces and may be on your route. I don't remember where the other one was because it wasn't that great but wasn't in the eastern US. My only advice is to Google Earth the one you are interested in to make sure it's not just a couple of spots next to the exit sign.

We have stayed a few times. Many are too new to get a satellite view. They are all different. Some are pretty open for what is usually an overnight others are just 4 very tight back-in spots and just about everything in between. I have never done one of the 4 spot backins that are close to the gas pumps. I suspect they are a little busy and noisy. The ones we have done are pull throughs (because it is just a quick overnight). They have been fairly quiet as they are a little bit away from the trucks. Have had more highway noise than truck. The ones we have been to are well cared for and felt safe. They are a touch on the pricy side for just an overnight, but you are paying for convivence and quality.

I have used them for long cross country journeys ever since they started several years ago. A great idea particularly when you are not sure how far you are going to move in a day. They are often available to book at the last minute.

I just returned from AirVenture in Oshkosh, WI to Prescott, AZ and stayed at two of them. The homeless are beginning to invade the spots. On two occasions when I arrived at my spot that I booked online there was old broken down RV sitting in my spot. I went in and found the Love's manager who told me to take another spot. That one was also occupied with the same issue. Ultimately the manager came out and got them to move along. Some Love's RV stops are behind electronic gates, no issues there. Apparently there is a growing issue where homeless just take a spot and use it until they are told to leave. The problem is significant in and around major urban cities. The Loves Travel Stops out in rural areas have been predictable in my experience.

Squatters aside the only other issue is noise all night. With my Airstream during the Summer I never found that to be a problem because the air conditioner made more noise inside than the traffic moving in and out of a Loves. But my LightShip HVAC system makes noise at night. So now I hear the traffic noise. Mostly trucks coming and going all night.

We stayed at one in Rockville Minnesota and it was just a few Back in spots right next to the exit. Not long enough, not dark enough at night, the dog park was gross, it was noisy and expensive. I would never stay there again. A Walmart would be a lot better.
