As a new RVer some time ago I got on the roof of @Chuggs Ventana looking at his solar configuration. I noticed the fantastic fans and wondered why they looked so different from mine. Mine are "low profile" why are his these monster things? So yeah, I didn't know what these things were for as a new RVer. Later I learned that these are covers that go over your fantastic fans and allow your fans to operate in rain conditions where the fantastic fans would auto close them. While the fantastic fans can be used while driving, supposedly, having the vent covers on makes me more comfortable keeping the fans on while driving.

I bought my Maxxair II vent covers from Amazon and they were super easy to install and I've really enjoyed using them since. No more issues with fans closing from the moisture sensor. Highly recommended!

Here is the description on the Maxxair site:

If my fantastic fan(s) die I will likely replace with the fan units offered by Maxxair.
