We had planned a visit to rural Maine to visit friends and enjoy a beautiful State. After seeing what Tucker Carlson has uncovered, maybe we'll skip Maine for awhile.

I saw a Newsmax article that they just busted that ring in Maine. 9 arrested as I recall

This nonsense is everywhere. There's rings and suppliers and street thugs pushing stuff in just about every town. laundromats and other cash business for washing cash. ethnic restaurants bringing people in/sponsoring their visa as indentured servants for 5 years in a pyramid scheme. I wouldn't not visit a place because there's bad people there. If you feel that way, you might not ever want to leave the house.

Fincen is on it. They are making headway in this space by following the money and shutting things down. AI has really advanced alerting to transactions, patterns, etc in money movement that looks suspicious.

I was in Main in June and the only thing I saw was a Moose. Well I did see LL Bean was remodeling and may take over Freeport. There are plenty of camping spots because the Canadians are not coming south this year.

I eschew the paid performers on affirmation TV and Radio whose talent consists of reading from a teleprompter what the audience wants to hear. Or the Sunday Morning interviews consisting of which politician can spread the more convincing bovine scatology.

Rest assured all is fine in NewEngland. We travel to different areas through all of the NE states and nothing is any different than any other year

We will be in CT for a brief stay this summer for business.
If you stay out of the urban areas (Hartford, Bridgeport, New Haven), CT is reasonably safe. The complexion of the State has changed considerably from when we lived there in the late 80s to early 2000s.
As a Selectmen in our town, back then. Very little for the local State Trooper to do daily. Occasionally a domestic call for service.
The occasional traffic enforcement on Rt133 or Rt65.

I live in the DFW metroplex ( pop. 8.5 million), same as most any other large urban area in America and we’re all okay.

Was in New Hampshire for a "Bronco" event on June 12th, and it was a couple of days before the "Laconia" Bike Week! So we saw planty of bikes, somereally cool folks, & some questionable! But, it was safe, fun, & an adventure that I'll never forget!
Thanks "Ford" Motor Co..........This from a guy that worked in a "GM" Dealership Group for 38 years!

There was a "protest" in Columbia Falls, MT last week. About 5-10 purple haired people wanted to get rid of the king, and were looking for directions to the boat with tea on it. Not a big deal, but it did seem out of place. There was a short bus parked nearby, so I guess it makes sense.

Maine is not some sleepy backwater any longer.. Too bad..

In the interest of full disclosure: Narconon, the source for that story is the group who claim there's a race of aliens from outer space living under the polar ice cap (Scientology). Narconon operates for profit drug addiction rehab facilities in several States.

Joe,

If you’re that afraid of Maine then don’t go but the fact is that it is still just as wonderful as it always has been. We’re headed up there on Sunday for a week and really looking forward to it but I guess if we follow your lead I better put bars on the windows and bolt the door closed

Maybe time to get the aluminum foil hats ready..... just in case!

Drug problems are everywhere. NH is full of it. homeless drugies on every city corner in concord and manchester these days. portland, yup. lots of smaller towns too like Lewiston are having problems too.

It's bad everywhere there's a city these days. Kensington outside philly is at epidemic levels. San fran? a horrible mess.

Basically, if you go by this, you can't go anywhere. Stay home. Every city and every town with more than 100 people has drugs and homelessness.

It's not the 80s anymore, it's the 20's and it's just as bad - just different drug of choice causing different problems.

Keep your kids off the crap. that's they only way forward.
