MCD windshield blinds

We are traveling and the night darkening windshield blind quit working, stuck in middle safe driving position. Was able to order and receive new motor while on the road. Really don’t want to risk trying to remove the whole installation from its mounting clips, replace motor, and snap whole unit back in place until I’m home. Is it possible to manually turn the blind down and up without destroying more than the motor I’m replacing.
