New to us is a 2019 MiniWinnie 22R and everything's pretty much fine except I find a button on the end of the shift lever that isn't mentioned in the Ford E350 or the Winnebago manuals. Is this a manual activation for trailer brakes?

It most likely activates your tow/haul mode. Your owners manual should cover it. Basically it alters your shift points to account for the extra load.
