Many years ago it paid to stay with a single insurance company, they appreciated the loyalty.
Now we shop insurance if it increases more than inflation, which results in shopping almost every year, though we typically stay with a carrier for 2 years on average.
Insurance is a royal pain. At one time I started tallying up what we have spent on insurance over the years and subtracting what claims we have made. That was too disheartening, so I stopped tallying.
