The air assist lock up towards the top of my door on the hinge side has an issue that’s causing it to repeatedly try to lock and unlock making loud distracting banging noises while driving. I need to find a way to disable this thing until I can troubleshoot it.
It is not the actuator in the door, nor is it related to four brass contacts.
The air lock is driven by a 12 volt solenoid on the firewall in the generator compartment with an air line in and air line out that runs up to the locking mechanism. I can’t find a fuse related to this lock and the wiring goes up into the passenger side of the dash which I don’t want to disassemble at this point
I’ve tried pulling the fuses related to the door lock and also tried disconnecting power to the Trimark system, neither of which had any effect.
At this point, I’m thinking of temporarily disconnecting the air line coming out of the solenoid, but wanted to get input on other possible solutions
Thanks
Bill
