The wife wanted to get another dog as a companion for Irma, so we checked on line at Lee Co Animal Services and found this pup to rescue. Meet Jasper, 1 yr old GSD/Black Lab mix. They actually get along well together!

I think we're going to do a "test" 3 or 4 night trip close to home, like Riverside in Arcadia in late March to see how he's going to react to camping. So far, he's been pretty good for a puppy and extremely trainable. Just a lot of energy to use up.

We've been visiting our city ( no kill) shelter for several months. I've noticed 25-30% of the dogs are some mixture of pit bull. Most folks apparently don't want to adopt pit bulls and/or a lot of pit bulls and pit bull mix are either picked up by animal control or surrendered by their owner.( if you surrender an animal you are blocked from ever adopting from any city affiliated animal shelter going forward).
