Hello everyone
I'm hoping to get into a RV in the future. I ran into a grey area with licensing in PA.
I have a CDL class B. I'm told this is ok by some and some say no. DMV is telling me no. I need a non commercial class A. RV Dealer tells me no.
There is no place to get training for a non CDL A. Non CDL A is good for 26001 lbs or more. My CDL B is good for 26001 lbs. or more. I also have Bus, Tanker ,air brake endorsements. Anyone know what's going on in PA? anyone know where to get a non Commercial A training?

Thanks

Welcome to RVForums @mdrey. What RV are you planning to get? I don't believe a CDL is required typically but each state is different.

Hello Neal,
Planning on a class A. I have the CDL. There telling me that in PA. you can't use the CDL for a motorhome. I have to get a Class A non commercial license. Class B CDL is what I have and that covers 26001weight. And a class A non CDL covers 26001 weight. But there telling me I can't use a CDL.

@mdrey below is a link to a discussion on this topic on another RV forum. Hopefully it will help. Looks pretty convoluted.
