I just joined the forum to learn as much as possible. My wife and I are retired, in our early 70s, and want to get around the country a bit. We don't intend to be full-time, or anything close, but would like to be able to pick up and go when the mood hits. I've looked a bit at Class-Cs and trailers, and at the moment am leaning toward one of the small travel trailers which could be towed behind a SUV, thinking that would give us a good daily-user vehicle with the ability to travel. If we were to buy a trailer in the 3,500 lb. range, what's a reasonable all-up weight loaded with food, clothes, water, etc.? Hoping to manage with a tow vehicle rated at 5,000 or 6,000 lbs.
