Hi All,

I am new to the forum and plan to be RV'ing in the very near future. I know that many of us do/plan to spend extended amount of time in our RV's traveling.
I have a question: If you could have anything custom made for your RV to make it more comfortable, and feel like home what would it be?

I have noticed that there is a shortage of custom-made products for the interior living. I see bedding that is adapted with garters, or sleeping bags, but not nice bedding made specifically for the RV, that is luxurious, like you may have at home. Decor items that are not campy, without a catchy phrase or image of a trailer on it, or dishes that won't break in transit that are nice and mimic good china. Or any of the luxury items we have at home, that we don't think about taking, because they aren't practical, but would love to have on the road.

So I go back to my question: If you could have anything custom made for your RV to make it more comfortable and feel like home, that you have not found to be available, what would it be?

Welcome aboard!

My coach has quite decent linens, tasteful window treatments, pleasing back splashes, nice enough upholstery, quality woodwork, and enough convinces that one could hardly call ot camping, but it lacks the most fundamental necessity of all - a pizza oven. In fact I have yet to see one in an RV of any kind, although I suspect there is at least one Newell running around with one.

I take what was from home on the road and that includes luxury linens, coverlets, sheets, towels, champagne, wine, tequila and port glasses, dishes, cloth napkins, etc. The only thing I no longer use are candles (except my water activated ones...love those).

I honestly can't think of a thing that I need custom built to make my coach feel more homey/comfortable other than higher quality furniture which would be a big plus.

Well, I wouldn't mind the wine cooler and stemware display that they put in the King Aire or the contemporary recliners (they are so comfortable and stylish) and table with lamp that they put in the Liberty coaches. Sigh. So purty. Or a steam shower that I saw in a Newell. Ahhhh. 🥴

Bed linens by "Beddy's".....check it out! Comfy, luxury, & washable!

My bus was custom built by me. I live in it full time and have since 2010. Previously I lived in a vintage Class C. I have never not felt at home. And I use Corelle dishes. I don't have "camper decor", I have paintings. I have always used my standard sheets. I do have a zero degree sleeping bag opened up flat in a duvet cover for my top blanket on my bed with a residential heated mattress pad. But I have used an opened up sleeping bag as my top blanket since 1980, when I got my first waterbed and used an old sleeping bag to keep the heat in during the winter.

I currently have a vintage 1924 Craftman style tiger oak fireplace mantle with a tiled surround on my residential vent-free LP fireplace. And it bounces down the highways just fine. Not that my bus bounces much, but I have had to turn it around in two fields.

You do know that you don't have to decorate your camper/RV like other people? You can decorate, or not, in any manner that you see fit. There are no rules. All those websites you see, those people are invariably getting a little money from the people who feel the need to copy others "stuff". It's one of the ways they make money, by being an "Amazon Affilliate".

I've known people who took their fine china and crystal glasses on the road with them and never broke any.

I've had part of my Corelle dishes since I bought them for the old pop up we had (1987). My husband didn't care for paper or plastic plates. Neither did I. We even had "real" plates when we tent camped. So having a fancy, expensive camper/RV or having a used "orphan" means nothing when it comes to decor. Actually, I have found that people who have used campers are more willing to make the changes to make their lives more comfortable than the people with new and/or high end camper/RVs.

Personally, I think something is wrong with the people who "save" the original bed covers, pillows, etc to put back into their camper/RV once they decide to sell it.
