Hope to have input from experienced campers on the purchase of a camper toy hauler. I have researched peoples problems on owning camper trailers or RV's and some of the stories are horrifying, with equipment malfunctions, Roofs leaking and warranty issues that take months to correct.
My desire is to have a functional trailer that's reliable for my needs. So, I plan on traveling cross country with two Harley's in the back. It's only my girlfriend and myself. Would prefer something 30' and under. It could be a 5th wheel, but a short one. I have an F350 so towing isn't an issue. What brand would people suggest that doesn't fall apart?

Welcome aboard Solidaxle61. I can only offer an opinion. What I suggest is that you find a floor plan that works for you. If you can find one that was built pre COVID (2020) your chances are better of finding quality. Then, even if the unit you choose is brand new, have it professionally inspected before you make an offer. You have heard horror stories about build qualities and warranty issues and, I'm sure, most of them are true. But what you don't hear about is those units that are mostly trouble free and I strongly suspect they far out number the problem units. Having the inspection done will help weed out problem units.

Think about what issues there are when owning a car then what it takes to maintain your home. Add them together because you will be using a house on wheels. Maintenance issues will arise more so than if the house was stationary and even the top of the line units fall into that category. If you are a handy kind of person, you can look after most yourself but I doubt you will find a unit 100% trouble free.

Good luck and safe travels.

Welcome from Mississippi! I’d have to agree with what was said above. Find the floor plan you like the most and go with that. I doubt there is a single trouble free brand; these are built as quickly and light as possible, which leads to quality issues for something that bounces down the highway.

How's Grand Design ? XLR Boost?
I’ve had a 2008 Forest River 5th wheel toyhauler, a 2017 Forest River Class A, and currently have a Grand Design 5th wheel toyhauler. All were/are good. All had/have problems.
IMO, Grand Design is made with a higher quality than Forest River.
