Electric step only comes part way out starts slipping gears

Could there be some teeth missing from the drive gear? Sorry I'm not a specialist in this area. But welcome to the RVForum!

A classic problem. There is a plastic gear in the motor reduction gearbox. The gear is likely the cheapest part in the entire assembly and is not available by itself. The entire motor assembly must be replaced. About $100 if you shop around. Get the numbers from the tags that are on the motor assembly. Call the manufacturer and get the current number. Its a relatively easy change.
