Hey, Folks new guy here, We have finally made it. we are shopping and purchasing a brand new unit this spring. I have always had used or hand-me down campers so we are excited for our new purchase. I was just wondering the pros and cons of sealing the roof on a brand new trailer. I would believe that its is not necessary but on the other hand will it hurt anything.

Hey Kevin, the only differences between new and used are:

The need to maintain value by limiting modifications.
Number of previous owners.
The size or number of payments.

Other than that all maintenance chores are the same or, in some cases great than., if the roof is rubber, then I would coat it with Henry's tropi-cool,for the following reasons:

Tropi-cool is formulated chemically inert, so it will not react and destroy the membrane.
It protects the membrane from UV light (sun), extending life expectations.
Can seal some of the flaws in workmanship issues before water damage can occur.

Enjoy your new toy.

RV Armor is the first thing I put on any new RV roof.
