I was looking to buy extra slide controllers as spares, one of each type. I paid $275 in Nov 2023 when my FWS died on me at Newmar. That same controller is now $726.

Part #96044 - DSC100

Need to look for alternate sellers for these parts.

My other controller is Part #135309P - PSC110 $800

Signs of a failing petroleum dollar. Let everyone know if you find a supplier willing to lose money.

It seems Newmar is treading a fine line between fair pricing and gouging its customers, creating a lot of unnecessary ill will IMHO.

As some of you know, I had to replace my Sanicon hose with sleeve while in Alaska. I couldn't find one anywhere, so I ended up buying it directly from Newmar for $545.94. Highway robbery, but I didn't have much choice at the time.

Fast forward to now: I'm currently at Newmar and that same hose is listed at $350 and currently discounted to around $220 (I'll confirm the exact price tomorrow).

Apparently their policy is that if you call in to order a part, you'll pay a higher price than if you purchase it in person.

@Neal I'll check on your part numbers tomorrow and would be happy to pick them up and ship them to you. I'll report back with prices once I have them.

@ARD check this out:

I don't put a sleeve on mine anymore (this is going so wrong) - they leak when they're gonna leak (still wrong). I'll just replace them as they're cheap enough from MMH.

Same. I had one separate/split and didn't see it because of the sleeve.

At that price, I could have 5 spares. Sigh.

It's a different world at Newmar now. It's been destroyed from what we knew.

Not to hijack this thread...but! This summer, we were in an RV Park in Berlin, Ohio. One afternoon, 4 Dutch Stars arrived, and I was in the middle of them. Turns out they were nephews of Mahlon Miller, and did I get an earful. According to them, morale is in the dirt, and retirements can't come quickly enough. Two sticking points are that Casey is bringing in lots of new management from Whirlpool or as they said, the washing machine company. The other is how Newmar has gotten involved with NASCAR.

Now back to leaking sewer hoses and the high prices.

Edit: Matt broke his contract to stay as long as he was supposed to and is living mostly in Hawaii, playing golf.

You know, every now and then you stumble on to a part and think "that must be priced wrong, it is reasonable". The latches on my DS basement doors are about ten dollars apiece. The plastic parts beside them are like sixty. I did find however the plastic piece has the shop drawing attached. Think 3D printing. I had my guys print five of them for the extras box.

That makes as much sense as a football bat.

Newmar -Trimark door lock actuator $130
Trimark direct $23

Fascinating. I automatically bought a new hood release cable online (not from Newmar). It was $15 cheaper at Newmar. Too bad one has to shop around, instead of just getting everything from Newmar. I am with Neemer. We have a coral director coaching the football team, and bringing in the dance instructor and flute player to help.

Kinda like the running joke on the old TV show 30 Rock where Jack, the exec in charge of their TV show at NBC, used to run the microwave oven group at General Electric... ;)
