Hi all
long time RVer, first time Class B owner (if you don’t count the VW vans…)
just purchased a Coachmen Crossfit 22 D with DC A/C and under chassis generator. My question is, if you are traveling with a pet and stop to hike, shop or whatever, do you turn on AC and set up generator to come on when the voltage drops? It is not a Lithium battery equipped.
If there is another option please advise!
Thanks!

We travel with our Husky but seldom leave him in the RV, but when we do the A/C is set to come on and the generator in on or we are hooked to shore power.

I have more than one "RV". Dog goes hiking with us. We take the truck camper because that's the dog's camper. First we take her to the dog park so she is tired when we leave her alone. She always has a bowl of water. For shopping when its cool to quite warm, we turn the 12vDC rooftop vent on to exhaust hot air and open the ceiling vent in the bathroom plus a window or two just enough that she can't slither out but air can come in. She gets a "pee walk" before we leave her and when we get back. Then we walk to another store. We come back often to check on her. We often eat our lunch in the camper with her. The windows in the truck camper are sliders. Drop a stick into the track so it won't open past a set amount. If it's really hot (90F and up), she stays in the bus at home with the AC on. If it's really cold, she stays home with the heater on.

There are people who will pet sit for a few hours. Look on Rover.com to find pet sitters for your area.
