Thanks for the reply.I use RVLife. It knows my RV dimensions and will show me the Parks the way I am going and the safe route. It does take a bit of a learning curve but be patient and work with it.
Can you tell me the process for downloading to your Garmin? We used to use RV Life and have switched to inRoute.
I like it better and easy transfer of the gpx file to our Garmin.
inRoute takes the weight, dimensions, etc into account as well so planning works well.
The bonus was that it is about 1/2 the price of RV Life.
I have the drive app from Garmin on my phone. Can you tell me the process for downloading to your Garmin?
Thank youAllStays
Thank you for all of these sources. I appreciate it.Just like a lot of us RVers out here I use multiple resources; .AllStays, Road Trippers, RVParky, Campendium Harvest Host. Also use google maps. WE use Harvest Host as we travel to a destination whenever possible as there so many choices within the app.
Thank you. I'll take a look.We used to use RV Life and have switched to inRoute.

Thank you for your reply.Check out RV Parky. I use it mainly to find campgrounds based on where I am going.
Then I use my Newmar in-dash GPS, a truckers atlas and just plain common sense to plan the actual driving routes.

I'm planning my first long road trip and would like to know what apps are out there that can help with the process?
Any tips from all you pro's would be appreciated.
Thank you for the reply. We start with Google Earth. One enters the starting point and then the finish point. You then get a rough idea of your trip. We then decide what we want to see and do as side trips plus we try to stay away from Interstates as much as we can. Once we decide on a stop, we check park reviews on RV Life, Compendium and Google. Google Earth also gives us a "street view" of the Campground entrance and sometimes a tour through the park is available.
Thank You !I have the drive app from Garmin on my phone.
That provides real time traffic etc to the Garmin while driving.
When the Garmin is on I export the gpx file from inRoute and one of the options available is to send to Garmin. It shows as an imported trip after that.
The other way I have done it, when not connected to the Garmin, is export the gpx as a file on my phone. Then when connected send the file to the Garmin through the drive app.
The inRoute app can be used for navigation while driving as well. It is car play compatible, not sure about android.
Quite welcome.Thank You !
