To all that know for a fact and not guessing. Is it ok for me to use a 1850 watt portable gen JUST to charge my house battery(s) ?

My Onan is inop at this time and until i find out if it doomed or not i need a way to keep my house battery alive temporarily .

I wouldn't try to run anything with it because it doesn't seem to be stable voltage and it's only rated at 1850 watts .What you guys think thanks

sure--no problem. Set your charger to a rate that will not exceed 1800 WATTS ( ie: 110V / 1800 = 16amps )

I would set the charge rate at < 15amps to be safe. Your generator may not be a true 1850 watt, so pay attention to the load.
