Have used this additive in the past with Diesels. Not sure if it does anything but thought it was an insurance type of thing. Got trouble free service for 200k on one engine, sold it and is still running as far as I know. Another ran for 100k with out issue prior to selling that one. DieselGate casualty.

Now that we live in the South I'd probably use the silver container PowerService. Freezing Cold weather is a thing of the past
 
I live north, I have used the brand @Joe Hogan posted for many many years, all winter long, never had fuel gel up yet..
