For about 3 years I just used the Propane and never really trusted the switch. (Attached picture)
When I bought the RV I was told, when parked, to open both tanks and just watch the switch. When red switch and fill the previously used can. We don’t have a propane refrigerator. We use the stove top but If it needs baking we use a toaster oven. I bet we haven’t used the furnace a dozen times and just enough to get off a chill in the frosty morning.
The switch has probably only turned red a few times in the 3+ years. About 6 - 8 months ago I got a Mopeka propane gauge with bluetooth. I’ve watched the gauge very closely and have over used the furnace anytime we could just to watch usage.
As wanted and expected one tank slowly moved down the gauge. Finally the tank being used shows empty and the other tank shows 100%. Both tanks open.
Again, I have a gauge now so it not a critical issue but I still wonder if I am doing something wrong with the switch? The picture is with both tanks open with one at 100% and the other at empty. The switch is still turned towards the empty tank.
