I have a 2000 Dutch Star 3858 with one slide out. When it is not in use, am I suppose to leave the slide "out" or keep it "in"?
And why? Thank you in advance.

Doesn’t really matter either way. However, the slide topper will deteriorate much quicker if left out in the weather. If you are simply storing the coach and not using it, leave the slide in.

Ideally it shouldn't matter, it's no different than if you're camping somewhere for a few months. I would recommend getting under your slide and look at the bottom and back side of your slide outside wall. Mine has some plywood at the bottom of the wall that needed to be primed better. Look around see if you spot any places that critters can get in along the slide rails, etc. Down here we have mud daubers and wasps that will build a nest anywhere they can, so I leave my slide in when it's sitting at the house, like where it is now.
