Yesterday my adult son and I went to look at a 28 foot 2016 Jayco bunk house travel trailer. It sleeps 10 ( double bunk, dinette, fold down sofa and queen bed with new mattress). It is in very good ( dare I say excellent ) condition. They are selling it 'camping ready' to include supplies etc. The only thing we would need to purchase is a water line and an external generator. We plan to mostly dry camp within 50 miles of our home. We inspected EVERYTHING, roof, tires, appliances, slide out, A/C. It did not smell inside, nor did they have any 'masking' going on. We negotiated down $500 to $17k,, they have a loan on it, I am not financing, although I did not tell them that. I ran everything past my cousin, who is in the RV business and he gave us a thumbs up based on this info. I am asking for your disinterested 3rd Party opinion or questions. Thanks in advance, I am enjoying exploring this forum and hope to become a contributing member :)

You've done your due diligence it appears. And I'm assuming your "cousin" wouldn't steer you wrong, so I say go for it. Do you have a sufficient tow vehicle already because that's as, or more important than the trailer. Blessings and happy camping 😉

Good afternoon,
Not enough info in your note to look up a value. Outside of that, my comments are mostly about the transaction. You mentioned them having lien. That is very common and not a problem. It just means you need to be careful where your money goes. In our business, we always send the first funds to the lien holder bank. Never give all funds to a seller and hope they do the right thing. Get a signed Bill of Sale with correct VIN and selling price. Your state will need that AND the old registration and signed off title (once paid off). There should also be a Release of Lien that goes with the titles. Having the correct ownership papers from the seller will really help you get your clean title in your name. No shortcuts or options.
You can put the camper in your driveway but not having a correct paperwork transaction will lead to long headaches.
Let me know if we can help.
Thank you,
Ken

My son, who is quite competent and particular, has a 10 year old Jayco 5th wheel and he has had no complaints about the trailer.
