GMC has recalled the 6.2L engine (voluntary?) for inspection and oil change if no Misalignment of crank and cam timing code detected. This has to do with catastrophic engine bearing failures in low mileage LT1 engines.

Great discussion on this problem and oil viscosity in general.

I'm on a GMC AT4 Facebook page, and the low mileage failure rate of the 6.2L is alarming. As I recall, one owner's engine went at 7000 miles. I'm thankful my Canyon AT4 isn't affected.

Be real - you wish you could get the 6.2 in a Canyon! :ROFLMAO:
