Recliner - buy new or reupholster?

Typical deterioration of the cheap vinyl recliners you've all seen.

We'll probably buy new, but was wondering if anyone had experience DIY reupholstering?

I would first look at the mechanical side of what you have now. If it's a good quality look into reupholstery. If it's not that kinda makes your decision.

Hi, having a similar issue with the driver/passenger seats (only 7k miles on it too). I'm thinking the price is high on RV furniture, and getting the exact fit/installation is the largest concern on replacement furniture. I'd think reupholstering would be the better solution. I'd rather get new seating, as they seem to be built for someone who is 6'2" and over 250 pounds, which the wife and I are not, so I may just add suede to the touchpoints and keep the original cheap vinyl where I can (feel stuck in that).
