Ok, simple question: 1999 Roadtrek Popular 190– for a replacement of the current AC unit, what are the dimension limits with which the replacement unit has to comply to fit without major reconstruction, i.e. modifying the trim is OK, but not changing the size of the compartment for the AC?
Long Story: Driving 4 hours to pick up a just-bought unit next week—want to have already in hand an AC unit which fits so I can change-out the old with the new right away and go on a 5 day trip having a working AC. Problem being, I don’t have, nor can find online, the dimensions of the AC compartment I have to work with.
Also, any suggestions for a good inside replacement unit would be appreciated. I know roof units are the going thing, but I don’t want to penetrate the roof to wire and mount one.
Any advice on making the change would help—I’ve watched a number of how-to videos on You-tube—I’m handy and it looks pretty straightforward. Thanks.
Frank
